The Mongol Ecology Center’s Junior Ranger Program

  • Working with MEC staff and other counselors to plan and coordinate all camp activities
  • Organizing and facilitating at least one workshop for all Junior Ranger participants
  • Orchestrating the group’s daily schedule, while managing timely transitions between each activity
  • Monitoring campsites to ensure compliance with camp rules and ensure safety
  • Maintaining and encouraging the proper use of camp facilities and equipment
  • Delegating chores to keep camp facilities in full working order
  • Reporting any notable concerns or incidents to MEC staff

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in camps and with children
  • Physical ability to participate in outdoor activities, run, climb, swim, and lift or support the weight of children
  • Proven levels of responsibility and accountability
  • Energetic, attentive and engaging personalities
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • First aid, CPR, or other safety training preferred.

Please note that each applicant is expected to pay for their own international airfare and all other expenses incurred while en route to the summer camp. However, expenses during your stay at the summer camp (food and accommodations) will be covered in full by the Mongol Ecology Center.
