Donation Policy

The Mongol Ecology Center (MEC) welcomes donations from socially responsible private businesses, corporations and individuals. For private businesses and corporations considering a donation, MEC By-laws stipulate that such entities operate with policies that address human rights and equal opportunity, environmentally and economically sustainable development and management practices, and when appropriate employ Fair Trade protocols.
When considering potential donations, MEC will review business and corporate websites and policy statements provided by the potential donor. The circumstances of potential donations will be reviewed and discussed on an individual basis. The circumstances of major donations from individuals will be discussed on an individual basis.
Donations will be accepted for application only to projects and programs that are fully consistent with MEC vision and goals, partnership and commitments.

Donor Recognition Policy

The Mongol Ecology Center donor recognition policy allows for full recognition of the donor. This is done with a written letter of acknowledgement when a donation is received. In addition MEC, with the donors permission, will recognize the donor in printed and web-based annual reports and material prepared through donor funding. Recognition will be limited to the business or corporate name and logos, advertising slogans or other advertising material cannot be utilized. For maps, brochures, or exhibits prepared with donor funding, the recognition will be limited to the business or corporate logo displayed at a size equal to the MEC and other logos displayed. Recognition for individual donors will be limited to their full name.
Donors fall within three categories based on their annual investment and displayed, by year, on the Donor Recognition Wall at the Lake Hovsgol Conservancy office.
